Available for homeowners affected by the Canterbury Earthquake
The Eco Design Advisors are pleased to advise that Christchurch City Council has confirmed funding for a full-time Eco Design Advisor from July 1. Until the advisor is appointed, and in view of many Canterbury Earthquake affected homeowners needing immediate assistance as they begin to rebuild, advisors in other councils are willing to offer free email and phone advice to affected residents.
While we are unable to visit the property, our advice will cover many of the aspects that we normally provide when conducting full appointments. This includes, but is not limited to, advice on:
- Insulation
- Room placement
- Thermal mass
- Overheating
- Ventilation
- Home heating
- Water heating
- Rainwater collection
- Greywater reuse
- Indoor environmental quality
- Materials
- Construction waste
- Site, including stormwater management
If you would like to take up the offer, please click on the agreement link below, which will open an email form addressed to the plan review coordinator. Please send your plans and an outline of what sort of advice you would like, and what you are trying to achieve. Please also let us know any time constraints you have around your project (eg you are planning to lodge consents shortly, and please let us know when). By doing so, you are confirming that you are a resident of Christchurch City, Waimakariri or Selwyn Districts, that you are rebuilding or reinstating your property following damage it has received from the Canterbury Earthquake, and that you agree to the following conditions:
